The Grand Oaks Speech & Debate Team, led by Coach Ryan Baker and Mr. Chris McCrea, competes in speech and debate events at the local, state, and national levels. Each year, GOHS also hosts the GOHS Speech & Debate Fall Tournament and the Bluebonnet International World Schools Debate Tournament.
As we begin the 2026-2027 season, our program remains focused on excellence, integrity, leadership, and continued growth, both in competition and beyond.

Speech & Debate Class Fee – $100
The fee covers your child's participation in one required tournament and includes:
NSDA (National Speech & Debate Association) membership
TFA (Texas Forensic Association) membership
Online research tools
Classroom resources and coaching support
Booster Club Membership
Your support helps our team cover important costs throughout the year, including:
Tournament entry and judging expenses
Meals and travel support, when applicable
End-of-year banquet
Scholarships and other team needs
*Booster Club Membership is seperate from the required class fee.
